This website is operated by Rational Business Corporation (P) Ltd. ("Desmat", "we", "us"), a company registered in India with its registered office at N-10, Satyawati Nagar, Ashok Vihar III, New Delhi 110052, India.

What we collect
We collect personal data only when you give it to us through one of our forms, and a small amount of technical information that comes with it.
- When you send a Product Enquiry or contact us: your name, company name, email address, mobile number, city and state, and what you tell us about your requirement, such as the products, product codes, quantities and message.
- When you apply to become a distributor: the same contact details, and information about your business: its type, the area you serve, the product categories you deal in and are interested in, your experience in distribution and your website.
- When you ask for one of our books: your name, email address and mobile number, and a record of each time you asked for the book and each time you downloaded it.
- When you download our software, such as Desmat LabelXpress Pro: your name, email address and mobile number, and a record of each time you asked for it and each time you downloaded it.
- With every enquiry, and every book or software request or download: the page you sent it from, your IP address and your browser details (its user agent). We use these to protect our forms against spam and misuse.
- When you use the website: information about how it is used, collected by Google Analytics, such as the pages visited, the time spent on them, the type of device and browser, and the approximate area you are browsing from. It does not tell us who you are, and Google Analytics does not store your IP address.
This website does not sell anything online, so we never ask for or store payment details.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry, and to send you the product information, availability or quotation you asked for.
- To consider a distributor application and, if we work together, to manage that relationship.
- To send you a book you asked for: we show you a download link straight away and email the same link to you. The link is personal to your request, works for a limited time and a limited number of downloads, and we keep a record of when it is used.
- To give you the software you asked for: the download button appears on screen straight away, and we do not email it. The link is personal to your request, works for a limited time and a limited number of downloads, and we keep a record of when it is used.
- To contact you about Desmat products after you have asked for a book or downloaded our software, which you agree to when you ask for it.
- To keep a record of the enquiries we receive and how we handled them.
- To protect the website and its forms against spam, misuse and attacks.
- To understand how the website is used, such as which pages and products interest visitors and which forms they send, so that we can improve it.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for marketing that is unrelated to your enquiry without your consent.
Your consent
We process your personal data with your consent, which you give when you tick the box on a form before sending it, including the forms you use to ask for a book or download our software, in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. You can withdraw your consent at any time by writing to support.ecom@desmat.com. Withdrawing it does not affect anything we did with your data before that.
Where it is stored and how we protect it
Your data is stored with reputable cloud service providers, some of whose servers may be outside India. We take reasonable security safeguards to protect it, including encrypted connections, access limited to the people who need it, and a password-protected administration area.
How long we keep it
We keep your enquiry, and the record of a book or software you asked for and downloaded, for as long as we need it to respond to you and as part of our business records, and then delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it longer. We remove the IP address and browser details from an enquiry, a book or software request and a download after 90 days.
Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal data of yours we hold and how we use it.
- Correct, complete or update it.
- Erase it, where we no longer need it for the purpose you gave it for.
- Nominate another person to exercise these rights for you if you are unable to.
To use any of these rights, or to raise a concern, write to support.ecom@desmat.com. We will reply as soon as we can. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
This website is intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.
Other websites
The website links to other services, such as WhatsApp, YouTube, social media, and Amazon and Flipkart, where our books are also available. When you use them, their own privacy policies apply.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
