Our Journey
From Paper Products to a Nationwide B2B Organisation
Desmat’s journey began in Delhi in 1935 with a paper-products business founded by Late Sh. M. L. Gupta. Through successive generations, the organisation expanded its product capabilities, manufacturing infrastructure and market presence while adapting to the changing requirements of businesses across India.

A New Phase of Development
Following India’s independence, the business entered a new phase and a new company was formed.
1962
The Second Generation Joined
Mr. R. S. Gupta, Promoter Director, joined the family business and contributed to its continued development and market presence.
1989
Rational Business Corporation Was Established
Mr. Ashok Gupta joined the family business as one of its Promoter Directors, and Rational Business Corporation was established.
1998
Bahalgarh Unit F3 Was Established
A new unit was established at Bahalgarh, Sonipat, for the conversion of paper stationery products.
2003
Paonta Sahib Unit F4 Was Established
The company established Unit F4 at Satiwala, Paonta Sahib, to support coating, conversion and allied production activities.
2006
Incorporated as a Private Limited Company
Rational Business Corporation was formally incorporated as a private limited company on 10 January 2006.
By this stage, the organisation had established 45 sales offices and developed a leadership position across major product categories.
2012
Rasoi Manufacturing Plant Was Started
A new manufacturing plant was established at Rasoi Village, Sonipat, to support label and photo-paper coating, conversion and related production requirements.
2013
Expansion into Food Packaging
The company expanded its manufacturing capabilities to include food-packaging and disposable products.
2015
Food-Packaging Certifications Achieved

The Fourth Generation Joined
